History

For many generations the family Kriechel grew grapes and brought them to a cooperative. In 1952 Peter Kriechel senior started to vinify his own wines.

With just 1,5 hectares of vines he took the plunge from grower to winemaker. Now in its third generation (Michael and Peter junior) the estate has been extended to 27 hectares and is thus the largest private producer in the Ahr region.

Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) forms the backbone and fortunately today a lot of attention is paid to the sensual and fruity Frühburgunder (Pinot Madeleine). The winery Peter Kriechel ist the biggest producer of this raw special vine in the world.
